Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg, a Swedish actress and actor who resided in Sweden during the 1950s to 1970s, appeared in many European films and American ones. Her most renowned role was in the comedy drama "La Dolce Vita". The film was both a critical and commercial hit, as well as winning an Oscar in the Cannes Film Festival 1960. She was born in Skane and was models before launching an acting career. The model was the winner of an award in the Miss Sweden competition. In the US, she started appearing in movies, albeit with a minor role. In the film 'Abbott & Costello Go to Mars,' she was recognized for her initial appearance as a Venusian. In the same year she received an award called the Golden Globe in the category of "Most Outstanding Newcomer" for her part in the film "Blood Alley. Through her entire career, she was in many other films such as the war-themed American-Italian film 'War and Peace', the Western Film 'Valerie', The British adventure crime film, 'The man inside', and the French-Italian drama "The Dam of the Yellow River'. She died in 2015 aged 83.
