Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop stars: an artist who could effortlessly bridge the gap between country and pop, conquering the globe. Swift left her heritage in the country genre like a second skin, and revealed she had the finest pop sensibility in her time. Swift was the only artist/singer who could take the popular zeitgeist out on the road. The evidence was clear from her first songs, especially in her neo pay homage of Tim McGraw. On her second release Fearless (2008), Swift revealed a singer/songwriter who was beginning to get acquainted with her. Fearless had a great success not only in the United States, having six platinum-certified singles. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story and the hit song You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. However, it did well all over the world. Swift managed to build upon her success by releasing Speak Now almost two year after. She grew in popularity over the course of her three subsequent albums - Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in a genre where she belonged. Her popularity grew even after she altered her plan in 2020's more streamlined siblings folklore (and Evermore) and stayed at the top of the charts.
